elizabeth mcgrath

I really like elizabeth mcgrath's work, its cute in the most creepy way. i reminds me of really bad tacky taxidermy, like bull dogs in bows and glitter. although it makes me think of this bad taste is seems to work to its advantage. its like taxidermy for people that dont really like the idea of taxidermy.

by hand

In a response to the sleek forms and perfect angles of late-1990s objects, many of today's artists are returning to handmade work such as hand lettering, hand drawing, and hand sewing. "By Hand" features an international collection of the most noteworthy artists and shows their work in detailed photography and insightful texts. - Synopsis from amazon.

i found this book really interesting and it has give me lots of ideas for my own work.

Walter Potter

http://www.taxidermy4cash.com/potter.html

Was looking for information on taxidermy and came across this guy. Walter Potter was a Victorian taxidermist who made tones of these very creepy scenes doing every day human things but with bunnys and kittens. He also had a few stuffed animals with to many legs or heads, im not sure if they where real or he just stuck extra bits on. well creepy!!
